In steelmaking, FeSi65 is used as a silicon-bearing addition and can also support deoxidation during melting and refining. Because FeSi65 contains less silicon per unit of alloy than FeSi72 or FeSi75, the actual Si result of the batch should be considered when calculating the required addition.

The 10-50mm lump size is suitable for regular furnace and ladle charging because it avoids very fine material while also limiting oversized pieces. For repeated production, the useful purchasing specification is not only "10-50mm", but also the permitted amount of fines and oversized material.

In foundry production, FeSi65 can be used as a silicon-bearing addition when the melt requires silicon adjustment. The 10-50mm screened form is suitable for operations that prefer lump material for weighing, storage and charging.

The required chemistry depends on the casting process, so standard FeSi65 should not automatically be treated as a specialized inoculant or nodularizing alloy. If the process has specific requirements for inoculation, magnesium treatment or trace elements, those specifications should be confirmed separately.

Controlled Furnace Charging

A screened 10-50mm range gives a more controlled lump size than broad or unscreened ferrosilicon. This is useful when charging equipment or furnace practice requires relatively consistent pieces.

Fines Control

Transport and handling can generate smaller particles even when the nominal specification is 10-50mm. If fines affect your feeding system or material recovery, define the acceptable fines percentage before production.

Oversize Control

The upper 50mm limit helps reduce large pieces that may be inconvenient for some charging systems. If the equipment has a strict maximum particle size, the oversize tolerance should also be included in the order specification.

The batch COA is used to confirm the actual chemical analysis of the material supplied. Recent ZhenAn FeSi65 inspection reports recorded Si values of 64.27% and 65.98%, with Al results of 2.35% and 2.39%.

FeSi65 10-50mm is normally packed in 1 MT jumbo bags for bulk metallurgical supply. The material should be kept dry during storage and transport, while handling should minimize unnecessary breakage that can increase the fines content.
