It has a good effect in a short time (about 5-8 minutes) after inoculation.It is mainly applicable to the general occurrence or the late instantaneous inoculation of various situations.
Silica-barium inoculant is mainly used in the inoculation of ductile iron and gray cast iron.Si-barium inoculant strongly increases graphitization core, refines graphite, promotes the obtaining of a-type graphite in gray cast iron, improves the strength, for ductile iron can make the graphite in ductile iron fine, round, and improve the grade of spheroidization.Strong recession-resistant capability, while preventing the associated spherification recession.
Raw material preparation: The primary raw materials for production include high-purity silicon metal, ferrosilicon, barium carbonate, and other alloying agents.The raw materials are carefully selected and weighed to achieve the desired chemical composition.
Batch mixing: The raw materials are thoroughly mixed together in the appropriate proportions to ensure uniform distribution of elements in the final alloy.
Smelting in electric arc furnace (eaf): The mixed raw materials are charged into an electric arc furnace (eaf) along with a carbonaceous reducing agent such as coke or coal.The furnace is heated to high temperatures using electric arcs, causing the raw materials to melt and undergo chemical reactions.
Alloy formation: In the molten state, the silicon metal, ferrosilicon, and barium carbonate react to form ferro silicon barium alloy.The addition of barium enhances the nucleation and growth of graphite nodules in ductile iron, leading to improved mechanical properties.
Alloy refining (optional): Refining processes May be employed to remove impurities and adjust the composition of the alloy to meet specific requirements. Refining methods May include slagging, gas purging, or the addition of refining agents.
Casting: Once the alloy composition is within the desired range, the molten alloy is poured into molds or ingot molds to solidify.
Cooling and solidification: The cast alloy is allowed to cool and solidify within the molds.The solidified alloy is then removed from the molds and allowed to cool further.
Crushing and sizing (optional): The solidified silicon bariummay undergo further processing, such as crushing and sizing, to achieve the desired particle size distribution for specific applications.
