Silicon Metal 441 10-100mm for Aluminum Smelting
Silicon Metal 441 is an industrial metallic silicon grade made from silica and carbon-based reducing materials through electric furnace smelting. During production, silica is reduced at high temperature, and the basic reaction can be expressed as SiO₂ + 2C → Si + 2CO. The final material is a silver-gray metallic silicon lump with high silicon content and controlled Fe, Al and Ca impurities.
The grade 441 mainly refers to the impurity control level of silicon metal. In this grade, Si is usually around 99.0% min, while Fe, Al and Ca are controlled at lower levels than Silicon Metal 553. This makes Silicon Metal 441 a practical choice when your aluminum smelting process needs better impurity control than common industrial smelting grades, but does not require the stricter limits of Silicon Metal 3303.
