What Are The Requirements For Using Carburizer In Casting

Injection molding carbureizer is a steelmaking additive that can significantly increase the amount of scrap steel used and reduce or eliminate the use of cast iron. The use of a carburetor in steelmaking has the dual benefit of reducing the use of cast iron and increasing the use of scrap steel. The carbureizer is an essential component in the production of steel.

The specific type of cast iron in question will determine the type of carburiser that is required. Manufacturers provide an overview of the requirements for carbureisers used in steel casting.

Presently, the majority of carburisers are suitable for smelting in electric furnaces, with a select few with a particularly high absorption rate utilised in cupolas. The procedure for introducing the carbureizer into the electric furnace is to place it alongside the steel scrap and other furnace materials. Small quantities can be added directly to the surface of the molten iron.

It is important to avoid feeding a large amount of materials into the molten iron to prevent excessive oxidation, which will result in a suboptimal carburizing effect and insufficient carbon content in the casting. The quantity of carburetor added is dependent on the ratio and carbon content of the other raw materials. The intrinsic characteristics of the carburizer are the selection of pure carbon-containing graphitized substances to minimize excess impurities in cast iron. The appropriate choice of recarburizer allows for a reduction in the cost of castings.
