Graphite Electrode Uhp Description
The graphite electrode is a consumable material, which gradually burns out during the melting process and the new product is joined to the old one using the nipple connection method. To do this, there is an internal threaded connection at both ends of the product, into which a nipple is screwed, which is supplied with the electrode. This design ensures a continuous supply of consumables.
Depending on the size of the furnace, UHP graphite electrodes have different sizes. Their diameter ranges from 300 to 600 mm. The standard length of the product is 1800 – 2000 mm.

Production of UHP graphite electrodes
The main raw material for them is low-ash petroleum coke with the addition of electrode waste. For production, the solid components are crushed and bound with coal pitch. The resulting mass is given the required shape using presses, after which it goes through the process of drying and firing.
Then the resulting product undergoes graphitization at elevated temperatures for 100 hours. During this procedure, the contained impurities evaporate, the level of electrical resistance decreases, and the material itself becomes more amenable to mechanical processing.
To ensure oxidation resistance, the product is impregnated with special compounds. The result is a high-quality product with excellent performance characteristics. The content of ash impurities in the composition does not exceed 0.3%.

Q: What about your delivery date in normal conditions?
A: We send the cargo within 15 days after receiving the deposit.
