Graphite Electrodes
Graphite Electrodes Description
The graphite electrodes produced by ZhenAn Group are made of 100% high-quality needle coke, advanced production equipment, and technology, and are strictly produced by world-class standards. The graphite electrodes have lower electrical resistivity, better electrical conductivity, and higher mechanical strength. The graphite electrode joints are made of needle coke after three times impregnation and four times roasting process. The quality of the graphite electrode is close to or reaches the world's first-class standard, and it can meet the needs of various ultra-high-power (UHP) electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and ladle refining furnaces (LRFs) for steelmaking.

Transportation And Packaging Of Graphite Electrodes
Transportation and storage of graphite electrodes.
1. When lifting or transporting graphite electrodes, it is necessary to prevent the graphite electrodes from being damaged by sliding due to tilting.
2. To ensure that the electrode threads of graphite electrodes are good, please do not lift the electrodes by directly hooking the holes at both ends of the electrodes with iron hooks.
3. When loading and unloading the connector box, hold it gently to prevent the connector from bumping and causing damage to the wire buckle.
4. Please do not pile the graphite electrodes and connectors directly on the ground, but put them on wooden cubes or iron frames to prevent the electrodes from being damaged or sticking to the soil. For electrodes and joints that are not used for a while, do not remove the packaging on the surface of graphite electrodes to prevent dust and debris from falling on the threads or inside the electrode holes.
5. Welding electrodes should be neatly stored in the warehouse, and both sides of the electrode stack should be padded to prevent slipping. The stacking height of electrodes is generally not more than 2m.
6. Stored electrodes should be protected from rain and moisture. Wet electrodes should be dried before use to avoid cracks and increased oxidation during steelmaking.
7. Keep the electrode connector away from high temperature to prevent the connector plug from melting due to high temperature.
Packing of RP/HP/UHP graphite electrodes:
ZhenAn Graphite Electrodes are packed on wooden pallets with steel strips. And the nipples are preset in the sockets.
What Is The Difference Between Carbon Electrode And Graphite Electrode?
1. Different raw materials: graphite electrode is mainly based on petroleum coke and needle coke as raw materials. Carbon electrode is based on electrically forged anthracite, petroleum coke, graphite crushed, coal pitch, etc. as the main raw materials.
2. Different processing methods: graphite electrodes are made by forging, batching, mixing and kneading, pressing, roasting, graphitization, and machine processing, graphite electrodes in the electric arc furnace in the form of electric arc release electrical energy to the furnace material to heat the melting conductor. The carbon electrode is a carbon conductive material made by batching, molding, roasting, and machine processing.
3. Different prices: graphite electrode prices are 13,000- 40,000 yuan per ton, and carbon electrode prices are 5,000-20,000 yuan per ton.
Precautions for Use of Graphite Electrode
1. When selecting electrode diameter for steel making, please refer to electrode current capacity.
2. Graphite electrodes should be protected from rain and snow in transporting and storage. Before use, they must be dried.
3. Graphite electrodes should be handled with care during loading, unloading, and transportation to protect the threads and prevent damage.
4. Before connecting the electrode, the electrode socket thread must be blown out with compressed air, and then the nipples and the electrode should be tightened.
5. The electrode lifting device of the electrode should not shake during operation to prevent the nipples from loosening and tripping.
