Free forging is the most commonly used process. Pressure is applied to the blank between the upper and lower anvils to cause plastic deformation to obtain the required shape and size.
Generally, it can be divided into two categories: 1. Simple process, that is, the blank only undergoes the process of thickening or lengthening. 2. Complex process, consisting of two or more simple processes, usually including a combination of several pier thickenings and several lengthenings.
The formulation of the titanium alloy free forging process mainly includes the following steps:
1. Determine the original blank weight and size;
2. Determine the forging plan and draw a simplified diagram of the forging process steps;
3. Select forging equipment and heating equipment;
4. Determine the number of fires, forging temperature range and heating specifications;
5. Determine the inspection requirements and inspection methods for forgings;
6. Write process procedures.
