Quick Answer: From the available 2026 export price chart, we can see that the latest displayed Ferrosilicon 72 price was USD 1,160/MT on July 16, 2026. The visible lower and upper references on the same date were approximately USD 1,150–1,170/MT.
The lowest displayed value was USD 1,030/MT on January 4. By July 16, the upper reference had reached USD 1,170/MT. The average value displayed by the original chart was USD 1,129.15/MT.
These figures help you understand the 2026 market direction, but they are not our current executable offer. Before we quote FeSi72, we still need to confirm your chemistry, particle size, fines allowance, quantity, packing, destination and trade terms.
Data Scope and Methodology
Export price chart: We read the latest, lowest, highest and average values from a FeSi72 export price chart covering January 1 to July 16, 2026. The chart presents upper and lower references in USD per metric ton.
Average-price limitation: USD 1,129.15/MT is the average displayed by the original chart. We did not independently recalculate this value because the underlying daily dataset and calculation method were not available.
Cost and inventory data: We used semi-coke and ferrosilicon inventory figures published in a domestic market report on July 15, 2026. The inventory data covers ferrosilicon generally and does not show the exact amount of FeSi72 available for export.
Demand evidence: We included two dated steel-mill tenders to show actual FeSi72 specifications, purchasing quantities and delivery schedules.
Official downstream data: We used crude steel and steel product data published by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
Analysis rule: We separate published data from our interpretation. Where the available evidence cannot prove a direct cause, we use cautious terms such as "may," "suggests" and "is consistent with."
The FeSi72 export reference moved upward in several stages during the first seven months of 2026. The latest displayed value was USD 130/MT above the January low, representing an increase of approximately 12.6%.
The chart does not show a continuous daily rise. Prices recovered gradually in January and February, increased more quickly during March, corrected slightly in April and then remained within a higher range through July.
When you use this data for quotation comparison, the date and unit are not enough. You also need to check whether each offer uses the same FeSi72 chemistry, aluminum limit, particle size, fines allowance, packing and delivery basis.

2026 FeSi72 Export Price Trend

FeSi72 export price references from January 1 to July 16, 2026. Source: China Ferroalloy Online. Chart accessed on July 16, 2026. The values are market references rather than confirmed transaction prices.
January to February: Gradual Recovery from a Low Base
The lower reference began near USD 1,030/MT in early January, while the upper line was close to USD 1,050/MT. Both lines then increased in small steps during January and February.
By early February, the visible quotation range had moved to approximately USD 1,070–1,090/MT. The movement remained gradual and had not yet entered the faster adjustment seen in March.
March: The Strongest Price Adjustment
The largest upward adjustment appeared during March. The upper reference moved through several price levels before reaching approximately USD 1,170/MT, while the lower reference increased to around USD 1,150/MT.
From our market observation, each new level remained stable for a short period before the next increase. This indicates that the market needed time to absorb the higher quotations. The chart confirms the movement, but it cannot prove that one single cost or demand factor caused every adjustment.
April to May: Limited Correction and Stabilization
In early April, the upper reference moved back from approximately USD 1,170/MT to USD 1,160/MT. The lower line declined from around USD 1,150/MT to USD 1,140/MT.
The correction remained limited. Prices then stayed within the narrower range for several weeks and did not return to the levels recorded in January or February.
Late May to July: Higher Range Maintained
From late May, the upper reference returned to approximately USD 1,170/MT and the lower line moved back to around USD 1,150/MT. Both remained stable through July 16.
The long plateau shows that the market maintained the higher price range but did not continue accelerating. We describe the January–July movement as a low-base recovery, rapid March increase and later high-level stabilization.
What Influenced the FeSi72 Price in 2026?
The price chart confirms what happened to the export reference, but it cannot independently prove why prices changed. When we evaluate the market, we look at upstream production costs, market inventory, steel output and actual FeSi72 purchasing activity together.
Upstream: Semi-Coke and Production Cost Support
When we evaluate FeSi72 production costs, we look at electricity, silica, semi-coke or coke, iron-bearing material, furnace operation and recovery. The cost per tonne changes with the production region, electricity rate, raw-material quality and furnace condition.
A domestic market report published on July 15 placed small and medium-sized semi-coke in Shenmu at RMB 1,180–1,200/MT ex-works. The report also recorded tighter mine-safety inspections and lower output at some semi-coke plants.[2]
Stable semi-coke prices may have supported the ferrosilicon cost floor. However, semi-coke is only one part of the total smelting cost, so we do not use it alone to explain the full FeSi72 price increase.
Midstream: Market Inventory and Spot Availability
When market inventory rises, more spot material becomes available and price competition usually increases. When inventory declines, discounted material becomes harder to find and the quotation range tends to remain firmer.
According to incomplete industry statistics, ferrosilicon inventory held at production sites was approximately 90,000 tonnes on July 2, 2026, down 2,500 tonnes month on month. Reported trade inventory was approximately 52,000 tonnes and also declined slightly.[2]
We treat these figures as general ferrosilicon inventory references. They do not show the exact quantity of FeSi72 available for export, but the decline may help explain why low-priced spot material became less common.
Downstream: Steel Output and FeSi72 Purchasing
FeSi72 is widely used in steelmaking for deoxidation and silicon adjustment. When we evaluate demand, we check steel output, tender activity, raw-material inventory and actual purchasing schedules rather than relying on one indicator.
Official statistics showed that China produced 499.95 million tonnes of crude steel during the first half of 2026, down 3.0% year on year. Steel product output reached 718.78 million tonnes, down 0.9%.[3]
In June alone, crude steel output reached 83.67 million tonnes, up 0.4% year on year. Steel product output was 126.56 million tonnes and remained unchanged year on year. The value added of the ferrous-metal smelting and rolling industry increased by 3.3% in June.
These figures do not show broad first-half growth in steel output. In our assessment, the FeSi72 price recovery was not driven by steel production alone. Stable costs, lower ferrosilicon inventory and periodic steel-mill restocking also provided support.
Steel Mill FeSi72 Purchasing Activity in July 2026
Dated steel-mill tenders give us more direct evidence of FeSi72 purchasing activity than a general demand statement.
| Purchasing Mill | Specification | Quantity | Quotation Deadline | Delivery Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Longteng Special Steel | Ferrosilicon Grade 72 | 1,000 tonnes | July 15, 2026 | August 10, 2026 |
| Lingyuan Iron & Steel | FeSi72Al2.0, 10–70 mm | 750 tonnes | July 16, 2026 | July 31, 2026 |
The two disclosed tenders covered a combined 1,750 tonnes. We use these records only as evidence of specific purchasing activity. They do not represent total Chinese FeSi72 demand.[1]
The tender details also show why you cannot compare only the price per ton. A standard FeSi72 order and an FeSi72Al2.0 order with a defined 10–70 mm size are not automatically the same product.
Our FeSi72 Industry Chain Assessment
| Market Link | Published Information | Our Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Semi-coke | RMB 1,180–1,200/MT ex-works in Shenmu | May have supported the ferrosilicon cost floor |
| Production-site inventory | Approximately 90,000 tonnes, down 2,500 tonnes month on month | May have reduced spot-selling pressure |
| Trade inventory | Approximately 52,000 tonnes, slightly lower month on month | Suggests less discounted material in circulation |
| First-half crude steel | 499.95 million tonnes, down 3.0% year on year | Does not support a demand-only explanation |
| July FeSi72 tenders | Two disclosed orders totaling 1,750 tonnes | Confirms specific purchasing activity, not total demand |
Our assessment: The available evidence is consistent with a recovery supported by stable upstream costs, lower overall ferrosilicon inventory and periodic steel-mill purchasing. We do not attribute the complete January–July increase to one single factor.
How to Compare FeSi72 Quotations
When you compare two FeSi72 offers, do not begin with the price per ton alone. First place both offers on the same chemistry, particle size, fines allowance, packing and trade-term basis.
When we prepare your quotation, we confirm the following details before calculating the final price.
| Comparison Item | What We Confirm with You | Why It Changes the Price |
|---|---|---|
| Grade | Standard FeSi72, FeSi72Al2.0 or your agreed chemistry | The FeSi72 name does not define every impurity limit |
| Silicon | Minimum Si content and accepted testing tolerance | Different acceptance ranges are not equivalent |
| Aluminum | Maximum Al limit required for your process | A tighter limit may require additional batch control |
| Other impurities | C, P, S, Ca and other limits you need | Impurity limits affect suitability and production control |
| Particle size | 10–50 mm, 10–70 mm, 10–100 mm or an agreed range | Narrow ranges may require additional crushing and screening |
| Fines allowance | Maximum undersize percentage and checking method | A lower price may include more unusable fines |
| Quantity | Trial order, container quantity or long-term volume | Production, packing and logistics costs change with volume |
| Packing | Jumbo bags, small bags, pallets or customized protection | Packing materials and labor affect the final price |
| Trade term | EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF and your named port | Each term includes a different range of logistics costs |
| Quality evidence | Batch COA, sampling method and inspection scope | Inspection scope affects cost and order risk |
| Lead time | Available stock or new production schedule | Immediate stock and new production may use different pricing |
| Quotation validity | The exact expiration date of our offer | Costs, exchange rates and freight can change |
Why the Lowest Price May Not Give You the Lowest Usable Cost
A lower headline price may include more fines, a wider chemistry range, weaker packing or a longer lead time. What matters is the cost of the FeSi72 that arrives, passes the agreed inspection and can be used in your production.
You can review our FeSi72 specifications and supply options before comparing formal quotations.
Our FeSi72 Price Outlook for the Rest of 2026
We treat the following outlook as a scenario assessment rather than a guaranteed forecast. The next direction will depend on whether production costs, market inventory and steel-mill purchasing remain strong enough to absorb available supply.
| Scenario | What We Will Watch | Possible Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Firm market | Stable production costs, lower inventory and stronger steel tenders | FeSi72 quotations may remain firm or move higher |
| Range-bound market | Normal purchasing, stable costs and balanced supply | Prices may remain close to the current range |
| Weaker market | Slower steel procurement, higher inventory or lower input costs | More low-priced spot offers may appear |
Our current interpretation: FeSi72 moved away from its January low and established a higher range after March. The long plateau from late May to July shows stable support, but another clear increase would require new changes in costs, inventory or purchasing volume.
