FeSi72 Specifications and Batch COA

FeSi72 specifications should be confirmed from both the agreed purchase specification and the actual shipment batch. Our reference Ferro Silicon 72 grade uses Si ≥72%, with limits for Al, C, P and S as shown below. For an export order, you should also confirm particle size, packing and any additional element limits required by your production standard. The final accepted material should follow the specification agreed in the contract and the chemical results shown on the applicable batch COA.

 

The table below shows the current reference specification for Ferro Silicon 72. Silicon is stated as a minimum value, while Al, C, P and S are maximum limits.

These values should be treated as the reference supply specification rather than a substitute for your own purchase standard. If your process also specifies limits for Ca, Mn, Cr or tighter impurity levels, send those limits with your inquiry so that the required chemistry can be checked separately.

The purchase specification and the batch COA serve different purposes.

Document / Requirement	What It Confirms
Purchase Specification	Defines the chemistry, size, packing and other conditions you require before the order is accepted.
Contract / PO	Records the specification and commercial conditions agreed for the order.
Batch COA	Shows the chemical results associated with the supplied production batch.

For example, a contract may require Si ≥72% and Al ≤2.0%. The batch COA should then be checked to confirm that the actual reported batch values satisfy those agreed limits. The same logic applies when you specify tighter impurity requirements.

 

Chemical composition is only one part of a Ferro Silicon 72 order. Particle size should also match your furnace charging, handling and storage requirements.

The current reference sizes on this page are 10-50 mm, 50-100 mm and 20-70 mm. If your production requires a specific size distribution, you should also confirm how fines and oversize material will be accepted rather than relying only on the nominal size range.
