FeSi65 Specifications & Batch Test Results | Ferro Silicon 65

Review FeSi65 specifications with an actual batch test result of Si 65.98% and Al 2.39%. Confirm chemistry limits, particle size, COA and inspection requirements before ordering.
Product Introduction

FeSi65 Specifications with Actual Batch Test Results

FeSi65 specification should be confirmed from both the chemistry required by your order and the test result of the batch being supplied. A grade name such as FeSi65 gives the basic silicon level, but it does not automatically define every impurity limit required by your production process.

We therefore separate the purchase specification from the actual batch test result. For the FeSi65 sample shown below, the measured values were Si 65.98% and Al 2.39%. These are actual test results for that sample, not universal maximum or minimum limits for every FeSi65 order.

For other ferro silicon grades and product forms, see our ferro silicon product range .

FeSi65 Actual Batch Chemical Test Results

Actual ferrosilicon chemistry can vary between tested batches. The results below come from two separate test reports and are shown independently. They should be compared with the chemical limits agreed for the corresponding order rather than treated as one fixed FeSi65 specification.

Test Item Result Test Standard
Si 64.27% GB/T 4333.1-2019
Al 2.35% GB/T 4333.4-2007
P 0.014% GB/T 4333.2-2023
S <0.0030% GB/T 4333.7-2019
C 0.23% GB/T 4333.10-2015

Batch A and Batch B are separate test reports. Their values should not be combined into one artificial batch result. For an order, the required Si, Al, P, S, C and other controlled limits should first be confirmed in the purchase specification, and the corresponding batch test result can then be used for acceptance.

How to Define a FeSi65 Purchase Specification

A complete FeSi65 order should define the chemistry that matters to your process before the batch is selected. This prevents supplier catalog values, historical data and actual test results from being mixed together.

FeSi65 Order Item What You Should Specify Acceptance Basis
Si Required silicon range Batch chemical test result
Al Maximum Al if controlled by your process Batch Al result
Ca / Mn / Cr Add limits only when required by your raw-material specification Applicable chemical analysis
P / S / C Define maximum impurity levels when controlled Applicable batch test result
Particle Size Required lump or granular range Physical size inspection
Packing Bag type, net weight and shipping marks Packing confirmation before loading

Why FeSi65 Specification Tables Can Be Different

You may see different FeSi65 impurity limits in supplier catalogs, old product pages or internal plant specifications. This does not mean the values should be combined into one new table.

The correct purchasing approach is to select one specification for the order and keep the same limits through quotation, batch testing and receiving inspection.

FeSi65 Information Source How It Should Be Used
Supplier Reference Table Starting point for discussion, not automatically your final acceptance standard
Your Plant Specification Use as the purchase requirement when already approved internally
Actual Batch Test Result Compare with the limits agreed for that order

FeSi65 Particle Size Is a Separate Acceptance Item

A FeSi65 batch can meet the required chemistry but still fail the order if its physical size does not match your specification. Chemistry and particle size should therefore be checked separately.

FeSi65 Lump Size Requirement

If your plant uses ferro silicon lumps, state the required nominal particle range and any maximum fines or oversize limits that affect your handling process.

FeSi65 Granular Size Requirement

For smaller granular material, define the screened range separately rather than assuming the FeSi65 grade determines the physical form.

If you need to compare different particle ranges, see our ferrosilicon particle size for steelmaking guide.

FeSi65 Batch Test Report and COA Requirements

The Si 65.98% and Al 2.39% values above come from an actual chemical test report. If your purchasing procedure requires a formal COA, MTC, SDS or third-party inspection, define those document requirements before shipment.

FeSi65 Document What It Should Support
Batch Test Report / COA Chemical result for the relevant material or batch
MTC / Technical Certificate Confirm the required document format if your internal procedure uses one
SDS / MSDS Material handling and internal documentation requirement when requested
Third-Party Inspection Define inspection items and timing before loading if required

How to Send Your FeSi65 Specification

If your plant already has an approved FeSi65 raw-material standard, send the complete specification before quotation. This is more reliable than asking us to choose impurity limits from a generic product table.

FeSi65 Specification and Batch Test FAQ

What Does Si 65.98% Mean in the FeSi65 Test Report?

It means the tested ferrosilicon sample contained 65.98% Si according to the reported test result. This value describes that sample and should be compared with the silicon range agreed for the order.

Does Al 2.39% Mean FeSi65 Has an Al Maximum of 2.39%?

No. Al 2.39% is the measured aluminum content of this tested sample. The maximum acceptable Al level should be defined separately in the purchase specification when aluminum is controlled.

Why Should FeSi65 Specifications Be Confirmed Before Testing?

The specification defines the limits that the batch must meet. Without agreed limits, a test report shows measured values but does not by itself determine whether those values are acceptable for your process.

Can I Use My Own FeSi65 Chemistry Limits?

Yes. Send your required Si range and any Al, Ca, Mn, Cr, P, S or C limits before quotation. The applicable batch can then be checked against the same specification.

Should FeSi65 Particle Size Be Included with the Chemistry Specification?

Yes. Chemistry and particle size are separate acceptance items, but both should be written into the order when they affect your production or receiving requirements.

What Should I Send to Request a FeSi65 Quote and Batch Test?

Send your FeSi65 chemistry limits, particle size, required inspection or COA documents, packing, quantity and destination. If you already have a raw-material standard, send the complete specification with the inquiry.

Confirm Your FeSi65 Specification Before Batch Acceptance

Send your required FeSi65 chemistry, particle size and document requirements. We can use the agreed specification as the basis for batch test review and order confirmation.
