Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon, made from coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silicon). It is widely used in steelmaking industry, foundry industry and ferroalloy industry as deoxidizer and alloying agent, inoculant and spheroidizing agent, and reducing agent. Silicon manganese also has deoxidation and desulfurization effects. In addition, silicon manganese can effectively purify molten steel.

Ferrosilicon is mainly used in steelmaking and production of magnesium metal. Silicomanganese is a ferroalloy with wide application and large output. It uses manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag), coke and silicon as raw materials. It is mainly used in steelmaking and is mainly used as a composite deoxidizer and alloying agent. It is also used to a certain extent. Used as desulfurizer.

(1) Composition of ferrosilicon
The main raw materials of ferrosilicon are silica, blue carbon and iron oxide scale. Among them, silica is the main source of silicon element (Si) in ferrosilicon; blue carbon is mainly used as a carbon reducing agent to reduce the silicon element in silicon; iron oxide scale is mainly used as iron-containing material to adjust the content of ferrosilicon, especially iron , promote the reduction of silica in silicon.

(2) Composition of manganese silicon
The main raw materials for the production of manganese-silicon alloy are manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag), coke, silica, etc. The cost of manganese ore accounts for about 60% of the manganese-silicon production cost.
