Graphitized petroleum coke is produced by placing petroleum coke in a graphitization furnace and subjecting it to a high temperature of around 3000 degrees Celsius, which converts the amorphous, disordered carbon crystals in the petroleum coke into a hexagonal layered carbon crystal structure, i.e. the petroleum coke turns into graphite. This process is called graphitization, and petroleum coke that has undergone the graphitization process is called graphitized petroleum coke.
Product use
1. Graphitized petroleum coke is a good carbonising agent for smelting.
2. Graphitized petroleum coke is the raw material for producing large cathode blocks, large carbon electrodes, large graphitized electrodes and high-performance electrode pastes.
3. Graphitized petroleum coke can be further processed to produce anode materials for lithium-ion batteries and stabilisers for pyrotechnic materials in the military industry.
4. It can also be used in the chemical industry as a reducing agent, in casting reducing inoculants, refractory materials and other fields.
