How To Use Graphitized Carburizer

1. First, put one-third of the charge into the electric furnace. Then, add the rest of the charge bit by bit, as needed. If the top charge is quite big, it's important to press some of the pieces against the recarburizer. This will stop them from coming up and make sure the material is used up well.

2. The order in which you add the materials is important: start with a small quantity of iron scraps, recarburizer, steel scrap, and recycled materials. The recarburizer absorbs more than 88% of the materials, and the temperature reaches 1560°C, which allows you to remove the slag from the furnace. It is better not to remove all the molten iron from the furnace, but to keep some of it. Then add the recarburizer, iron filings, steel scrap and other materials. It is a good idea to leave some molten iron at the bottom of the furnace or put iron pins there to help with absorption.Don't use a washing method that reduces the absorption rate of this product. It is also important to avoid covering graphite pig iron with slag (a type of residue) during the melting process, as this may lead to the entrapment of waste slag and negatively impact carbon uptake.

In comparison to traditional cast iron, graphite carburizers offer several advantages: Firstly, it doesn't leave any residue during use, meaning it can be used a lot. Secondly, it is easy to use in production, which means it costs less. Thirdly, it has less phosphorus and sulfur than cast iron, which means it works well. Finally, using graphite carburizers can greatly reduce the cost of castings.
