The impurities of Pure Silicon Metal 2202 are mainly iron, aluminium and calcium, mainly from charcoal and silica. Of these, iron impurities are very difficult to handle, and 50 per cent of the iron impurities are in turn contributed mainly by silica. In the smelting process, almost 100% of the iron oxides are reduced into the silicon, about 60% of the aluminium oxides are reduced into the silicon, and about 40% of the calcium oxides are reduced into the silicon, so it is necessary to strictly control the iron content in silica.

 

For the production of high-quality industrial silica silica, its oxide impurity content should reach Fe2O3 less than 0.15%, Al2O3 less than 0.20%, CaO less than 0.15%. If the production of ultra-high quality industrial silica, the control of oxide impurities is more stringent, Fe2O3 less than 0.1%, Al2O3 less than 0.15%, CaO less than 0.10%, and boron ( B ) phosphorus ( P ) in silica and strict requirements!
