SiC6015 High Carbon Silicon

 

High carbon silicon is a recently developed alloy that is being used in converter applications. It is manufactured from metal silicon. High carbon silicon is composed of silicon and carbon. The product contains over 55% silicon and over 15% carbon. Additionally, the composition includes silicon dioxide, phosphorus and sulfur.
High carbon silicon is a new type of composite alloy deoxidiser. This product offers a cost-effective solution that can be used as a replacement for traditional deoxidisers such as ferrosilicon powder, calcium carbide, carbon powder, alloy powder and so on. High carbon silicon boasts stable properties and an excellent deoxidation effect. In steelmaking, it reacts with oxygen in the molten steel to form steel slag, which deoxides the steel. Furthermore, it desulfurises and recarburises, thereby reducing the necessity for a recarburiser and lowering steelmaking costs.
