What is ferro silicon calcium used for?

Deoxidation and Desulfurization: Similar to CaSi wire, ferro silicon calcium is used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking. It reacts with oxygen in the molten steel to form oxides, preventing the undesirable effects of oxygen on steel properties. Additionally, the calcium in FeSiCa aids in desulfurization by reacting with sulfur to form calcium sulfide.

 

Alloying Agent: Ferro silicon calcium is an alloying agent that contributes silicon and calcium to the steel. Silicon enhances certain properties of steel, such as strength and hardness, while calcium contributes to desulfurization and can improve the steel's casting properties.
