A deoxidizer is a chemical that is used when making steel. It gets rid of the things that are not supposed to be in the steel. It is usually added to molten steel to make it easier to cast and roll into the right shape. A certain amount of deoxidizer is used to remove oxides, while a sufficient amount of alloy is added to adjust the chemical composition to the required specifications for the steel grade.
There are different types of deoxidizer for steelmaking.
The most commonly used deoxidizers are: silicon-manganese alloy, ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, silicon-calcium alloy, silicon-aluminum-barium-calcium, etc.
1. This product is suitable for deoxidising various kinds of steel, especially for converter production. It can remove oxides and sulphur from steel, change how molten steel flows, and stop nodules forming.
2. It reduces the gas content in the steel and any other foreign materials. The calcium in the product can convert the oxides in the molten steel into deoxidation products with a low melting point that are easily separated, effectively purifying the molten steel. It's also easy to use, which means you can add the alloy more quickly and use less of it. This reduces the cost of steel raw materials and improves product quality. The economic and social benefits are significant. When used in electric furnaces as a reducing deoxidizer, it can replace silicon powder, silicon, aluminum, and barium, reducing steelmaking costs.
