Take Out The Ferro Vanadium Ingots

The earliest method of producing Ferro vanadium is still in use today. Aluminum is the strongest reducing agent. The heat generated by the reduction of vanadium pentoxide with aluminum is quite large (4577kJ/kg mixture), which can not only complete the thermite smelting process, but also add the recycled vanadium iron debris to reduce the reaction temperature.

 

Lime, magnesia and fluorite are added to reduce the viscosity of slag. Adjusting the size of aluminum particle and vanadium pentoxide melt can reduce the reaction speed, reduce the spatter loss and improve the vanadium yield. A magnesia lining for smelting, or a round reactor tube knotted with iron vanadium slag. The lower ignition method is used for smelting. The vanadium pentoxide melt sheet is required to contain V2O5≥98%. Block size <20mm×20mm, slice thickness 3 ~ 5mm. Aluminum is aluminum particles with Al>98%, particle size <3mm and aluminum bubbles with 3 ~ 10mm. The steel scrap is common carbon steel scrap, coil length <15mm. After the smelting reaction is completed, it is cooled naturally for 16 ~ 24h.

 

Pull out the furnace tube, take out the iron vanadium ingots, clean and pack. The composition of ferrovanadium obtained by smelting is: V75%-80%, Al1%-4%, Si1.0%-1.5%, CO. 13%-0.2%, S≤0.05%, P≤0.075%. Slag composition contains V2O55%-6%, Al2O3 about 85% (CaO+MgO) about 10%. Production of 1t80%V of iron vanadium consumption: vanadium oxide fuse (V2O598%) 1500 ~ 1600kg, aluminum (Al98%) 810 ~ 860kg. The recovery rate of vanadium smelting is 90% ~ 95%. In order to reduce the vanadium content in the slag, the slag is heated with electricity immediately after the end of the reaction, so that the metal particles suspended in the slag sink, and the vanadium oxides and residual aluminum in the slag continue to react to improve the recovery of vanadium.
