Ferro vanadium 80 Description
Ferro vanadium 80 is a kind of ferro alloy, which can be obtained by reducing vanadium pentoxide in an electric furnace with carbon, or by reducing vanadium pentoxide by the electric furnace si-thermo method.
The production of ferrovanadium involves the reduction of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) with iron in an electric arc furnace or aluminothermic process. In the electric arc furnace method, V2O5 is mixed with iron and subjected to high temperatures, causing a chemical reaction that produces ferrovanadium. In the aluminothermic process, aluminum is used as a reducing agent to convert V2O5 to metallic vanadium, which is then alloyed with iron. The resulting ferrovanadium alloy is cooled, crushed, and sieved to achieve the desired particle size. The composition and purity of ferrovanadium can be controlled by adjusting the raw materials and processing conditions.
Ferro vanadium 80 applications
Ferrovanadium 80 (FeV80) t is primarily applied to produce high‑strength, wear‑resistant and heat‑stable steel products.
By forming fine vanadium carbides and nitrides, FeV80 significantly refines grain structure, enhances tensile strength, hardness, toughness and high‑temperature creep resistance of steel. It is widely used in the manufacturing of high‑strength low‑alloy (HSLA) steel, tool steel, bearing steel, pipeline steel and heat‑resistant steel.
Major applications include construction, bridges, automobiles, high‑speed rails, pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines, mechanical tools and high‑temperature equipment. With stable composition and high recovery rate, FeV80 is one of the most important additives for producing high‑performance metallic materials.
