Calcined Petroleum Coke Description
In calcined petroleum coke production, raw coke is added to the kiln tail in the rotary kiln. Then, gas or heavy oil is sprayed from the kiln head, and the raw material is mixed and burned with air to form a high-temperature zone. The calcination zone reaches 1200–1350°C.
The high temperature removes moisture and volatile matter, which changes the coke crystal structure. The carbon grid level is altered, and chemical changes occur, making the product dense and conductive. It is cooled below 200°C and stored.
