Definition Of Electrolytic Manganese Flakes

Electrolytic manganese flakes (EMF) are high-purity metallic manganese products obtained through an electrolytic refining process.

They are produced by dissolving manganese ore in sulfuric acid, purifying the solution, and depositing manganese onto cathodes via electrolysis. The resulting material is collected as thin, silver-gray metallic flakes with a typical purity of 99.7% - 99.9% Mn.

Key Characteristics:

High purity, making them suitable for critical applications.

Brittle, silver-gray metallic appearance.

Non-magnetic and resistant to oxidation under dry conditions.

Essential for steel alloying, battery manufacturing, and chemical production.
