High-carbon silicon is a new type of alloy used in transducers. It is made by mixing silicon and carbon. Silicon and carbon are the main components of high-carbon silicon. Silicon makes up more than 55% of the alloy and carbon makes up more than 15%. The alloy also contains a small amount of silicon dioxide, phosphorus and sulfur.
It is a new type of deoxidizer that is much cheaper than other deoxidizers such as ferrosilicon powder, calcium carbide, carbon powder, and alloy powder. It has good physicochemical properties and works well as a deoxidizer. When used in the steelmaking process, it quickly reacts with oxygen in the molten steel to form a steel slag on the surface. In this way, deoxidation is achieved. High-carbon silicon also has a desulfurizing and deoxidizing effect, which allows you to replace part of the deoxidizer. This significantly reduces the cost of steel smelting.
